Marte den Ouden is synonymous to CHOSENVIEW, a film & post-production venture that started out in Spring 2012.
Always interested in film & documentaries, she first attended the University of Amsterdam (UvA) for a study in Anthropology, but the itch for anything cinema, and the urge to explore more about video editing, made her change her course and follow a study at the prestigious New York Film Academy (NYFA).

Never a stranger to video editing -her father was an experienced editor for many years-, she joined as many times as she could, when he had to work…. And if it wasn’t for all the intriguing looking switches & knobs, then it must’ve been for the chips & cookies, which were fully stashed in cupboards in the kitchen… If anything, it resulted in her helping out on a promo film for The Black Eyed Peas, which were then still a few years removed from their current Super-stardom.

Once graduated from NYFA, Marte started out her little company and with good results: Nickelodeon, Adidas, MTV all asked for her service and also renowned director George Sluizer called in to make a trailer to accompany his last masterpiece “Dark Blood” with.

Documentaries like “The Youngsters” & “Without Pointe Shoes” (the latter also screened in Lisbon), a music video for Golden Oldies (about a group consisting of 65+ people forming a Rock Band covering White Stripes’ seminal “Seven Nation Army”) as well as shorts for the “Mongol Rally” & “No Winners” (a stop motion film, consisting solely of photos) are proof of CHOSENVIEW’s wide scope and no limitations approach. That, coupled with a healthy dose of enthusiasm and genuinity, keep the output entertaining and rewarding, thus making for a list with satisfied clientele.

Aside of that, Marte recently started working as a mentor in Video Editing at the International Academy of Film & Television in Antwerp. Like said before, it’s always the urge to explore!
