The Mid-Autumn Festival, sometimes called the Moon Festival, is an annual celebration observed throughout Asia. One of the most popular treats of the Mid-Autumn Festival is the mooncake. The delicious and beautiful pastry often has a salted egg yolk in the middle that symbolizes the moon and is given as gifts to family, friends, and business acquaintances.
