Kate Cragoe Mayfield graduated from The University Of The West Of England in 2009, with an Upper Second-Class Honours in Illustration. Since then she has been working on many personal projects and building up her portfolio.

Working mainly with fine liner black ink pens or pencil, she creates handmade, highly detailed pieces, avoiding computer generated or altered images.

She has made countless one of a kind greetings cards and would like to pursue this branch of illustrative artwork. In the last year she has worked on commissions, one of which lead to her finished pieces being used as album artwork for the musician she was working with (album title, 'GIG 365 : MJWB').

Kate takes inspiration from details within nature and enjoys creating patterns, often fairly symmetrical and organic. She has donated her medically inspired illustrations to the Wellcome Trust 'Wellcome Images', which you can also view on their website (please see below). Read Less
