Elisa Viotto lives and works near Asolo (Italy), where she realizes her artworks in her studio. She approached creativity when she was a child: she decided to follow the artistic career and attended the Art Institute of Nove (VI) first, and then the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, developing a personal stylistic research.

She started working on small sized drawings, to create something that could make a strong impression: a succession of shapes and movements that come to life on the paper, like a complicated embroidery, thanks to ink and nib. Subjects are linked to nature but, at the same time, they are not realistic: imaginary flowers and sinuous lines reproduce a dreamlike nature, that seems to inhabit a dream, in which we are inevitably dragged. The use of colour is added later, giving another level of emotional intensity to the final image.
In this way several hues are born, studied and examined to transmit an atmosphere and emotion specific to each painting.

“If you pay attention, when approaching to the painting you will feel the swish of the wind, the flow of the water, the fragrance of flowers, and little by little you will realize that the world in front of you is coming to life, and you will be slowly welcomed like in a warm embrace.”

She graduated in Painting in 2010 with distinction, with a dissertation on Ukiyo-e Technical Engraving where she deepened her passion for Japanese culture, that deeply influences her art. She participates in personal and collective exhibitions in some Italian cities like Vicenza, Verona, Treviso, Trieste, Parma, Ravenna, Roma and Milano. Read Less
