Jim Mehsling is an animator and illustrator specializing in Flash animation, comic book art, character design, storyboarding, visual development, and motion graphics.
He has worked with a variety of clients including LEGO, Marvel, Rittenhouse Archives, Blogglebeans, Nanobugs, Nebraska Tourism, Nebraska Game & Parks Commission, and The Omaha Beef, just to name a few. He also teaches various classes in the Animation Department at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha.

Jim graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he worked as the editorial cartoonist for the Daily Nebraskan in the early 90’s. He then went on to graduate from Vancouver Film School. He also attended Kansas City Art Institute for a year.

In 2011 at San Diego Comic-Con, Jim’s animated short, “Bounty Hunter II: The Pit of Carkoon” won Best Animation from AtomFilms and Lucasfilm.

In his spare time, Jim enjoys hanging out with his fiancée, Amy, and their two dogs, Bandit and Daisy. He’s an avid comic book reader and collector. Some of Jim’s other not-so-obvious interests include Native American history, the Old West, musicals, and running half-marathons every now and again. Jim is currently developing his own comic book series, “Into The Void.” Stay tuned…
