A look at StarStation LATERAL

StarStation LATERAL
a 2017 student film from the Savannah College of Art & Design Atlanta
Lionel and Janet, workers in StarStation maintenance, aren’t exactly on speaking terms anymore. They never wanted this, but neither could ever seem to find the words to speak up first. However, the two soon find they must set aside their feeling of the past and come together in order to save their chance at a future.
An allegory for relationship issues, the theme of StarStation LATERAL is centered around the core value of communication in spite of interpersonal conflict and adversity... and the problems that can arise when that communication goes missing. Lionel and Janet, both stuck in their own worlds and mindsets, can’t seem to find any conclusion to conflict long-since passed. But as the dangers of life move on while they are in a stalemate, they soon realize that staying wrapped up in one’s own perspective can only get them so far. When the moment of truth arrives, it is up them to cease idling by and take steps forward.
