Branding
Over the last half year I've been working on the corporate identity of Babes & Gents, a new clothing brand.
It's been a great experience because the owner Amir and I had a very similar vision of the graphics and illustrational elements right from the start.
Babes & Gents is a clothing brand from Canada, Ottawa that draws aspirations from three words: Passion, Inspiration and Strength (Mental & Physical).

The brand prides itself in its art. Being able to turn expensive pieces of fine art into affordable wearable clothes that have been crafted with care and passion is the brand’s greatest joy.
Amir had the idea of creating a brand that inspires creative people who are pushing to make their ideas happen. He contacted me with a lot of ideas and a very clear brand definition. This is part of the process from sketches to the final logo and the many different applications of it.
I designed numerous versions of the logo in order for the identity to be very flexible. As there are so many different tags, labels and other material we didn't want it to get boring. Although details may change from version to version the all-over style and feeling of the brand is very consistant.
Amir also asked me to design the packaging for the brand. The tees can be ordered online and you get a special customized box with it as well as wrapping paper and lots of extras.
Based on calligraphy with a pentel brush pen i developed more letters for various slogans because we wanted to make the character of the brand very strong and artistic. In our opinion these bold brush-strokes show a creative brand with a love for detail and craft.
These are some of the patterns i designed using different logo versions. The pattern is used for wrapping paper in the box.
This love for detail is very important for the brand. There is even a hidden message inside the hem of the tees
Pages from the product catalogue.
And a couple of pages from the look-book of the brand.
In order for the design to be continued consequently on a very simple site design (Shopify by Zimidi) i designed a bunch of banners showing slogans, models and logos. Here are some examples of what they look like on the site. You can also check it out here: http://babesngents.com/
Inside the Babes & Gents box you receive this certificate of authenticity

This project has been especially rewarding because i got to use all the techniques i love and see the work through to the end. I started doing calligraphies with black ink at the beginning and in the end designed patterns, packaging, the look-book and catalogue, banners, stickers…

You should check out http://babesngents.com/ the tees are really nice plus you get a lot of extra swag (stickers, certificate, personal letter etc) when you order a package from them.
