This is a non-fiction children’s book aimed at 8-10 year olds. It explores the life and mythology of marine turtles of the Great Barrier Reef. In my investigation of children’s non-fiction books, I noted that many use both photographic images and scientific illustrations to support written information. As this book is a science text for young readers covering marine science and indigenous mythology, I decided to develop scientific-styled illustrations.
