Welcome to South Africa

Welcome to South Africa
Guidebook to inform refugees of their rights and give them resources to thrive.
Objective: To launch an integrated campaign that will provide refugees suffering from xenophobic (irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries) attacks with tools to help them participate in South African society.

Strategy:
To date, the proposed “Together+” campaign includes a visual identity portraying unity through diversity. Additional materials include a welcome and information guide for refugees to reference; a children’s book to be used as part of a curriculum; a poster series explaining medical rights; and a mural project to help build community. Pictured here is my team’s design for the refugee welcome book.

This project was completed as part of the together+ campaign, in collaboration with designers Brandon Keelean and Lynn Yeom.

Some of our team was able to market-test our designs in South Africa (March 2012).
