Today we are surrounded by the internet in everyday life. It even disappears, we do not primarily experience it as the internet. There are many touch points between alarm ringing in the morning and going to bed.
The generation of Digital Natives uses Gmail, Google+, Facebook, iCloud, Dropbox, Evernote, Twitter, Pinterest, WordPress, Tumblr, Flickr, to name a few.
But that generation lacks to know where the internet comes from and who
developes it. Since 1994 the World Wide Web Consortium, under direction from Tim Berners-Lee, standarises web technologies like HTML, CSS, PNG, SVG with the vision to create ‚One Web‘ for all, accessible, barrier-free, standards-conform, mobile.
With my diploma I aim to bring the both parties, the heavy internet users, the Digital Natives, and the developers of the internet, the World Wide Web Consortium, closer to eachother. The concept of my diploma suggests a traveling exhibition. Each international university campus, which includes a faculty of computer science is a possible location, to show the infographics in a calm
atmosphere. The diploma consists of printed infographics, a standards-conform App and a documentation.
