Vogue: The Small Creatures of Spring
The Small Creatures of Spring is a stop motion animated editorial piece for Vogue Japan. This was a terrific opportunity for Christopher Webb to collaborate with director, animator, and photographer Lacey and artist/model builder Billie Achillios. Working in Chris's studio, the team employed many specialty techniques developed for tabletop, miniatures, and animation.
Each animated creature is entirely made from cosmetics by Chanel, Yves Saint-Laurent and Christian Dior. Stop motion animation was combined with motion control to capture a handmade style and allow multiple in-camera light passes to be combined for post effects.
