Unbuilt Architecture of 80's

Digital Art
During the last weeks, we were working on the most interesting project so far.
We were asked by the Gallery of Architecture in Brno to provide architectural visualizations for their upcoming exhibition dedicated to architect Ivan Ruller (born 1926). All of these projects are unbuilt proposals for various architectural competitions all over the world from 80's, as a selection of about 600 projects designed by this architect.

In FlyingArchitecture studio, we sacrificed about 6 weeks to this project and 5 people were part of the team to deliver these designs "to life." All of these visualizations were done as our contribution to this exhibition for such a spectacular person.

Big thanks goes to Stefan Turcovsky for giving us his hand for this project (kudos!!!) as his intern position in FlyingArchitecture. This cooperation brought him to fulltime position in the studio. Welcome!

Thanks also to Petr Kolacek and Vladimir Sturm, guys who helped with 3D modeling for some of these projects.

The last, nut not least thanks goes to Veronika Nedecka, who made the final outcome outstanding. Her vision of colors and compositions is just something above us :)

Pyramid in Cairo.

Museum in the shape of it's siblings, pyramids in Ghiza, is a nice interpretation of the past transforming to the future.

City hall in Amsterdam

We were in love with this one. Circular shapes and monuments are magical, right?

National Theater in Baghdad

Iraq's capital should get a new theater design, however, unfortunately, this proposal was not chosen as a winning one. What we like about this one, is it's humility and peacefulness in the country that is still searching for it's peace.

Memorial Goreé Dakar

Memorial and museum dedicated to deportation of slaves from Senegal in Africa, reminding us what happened as a large thorn sticking from the ground.

Salesians monastery

Church and monastery in Brno, as a proposal for architectural contest. Strong shape of the circle and untraditional curved belfry makes this design unique considering the decade when it was created.

UNIDO in Vienna

United Nations Industrial Development Organization was having a contest where this design with spherical theater didn't pass, however we still think it's pretty cool to have a death-star-shaped theater, right? ;)

Church in Hustopeče

When architecture is supposed to remind a very important event of the past times, it is usually full of symbols. Symbols, that we can't even count in this proposal. In the end, the other competitor was chosen as a winner of the contest with smoother and more organic proposal, however the deepness of the idea behind this one is undoubtedly powerful.
