A group of elderly describes their reminiscence about their first half of life in the book titled - Two Generation.

 

People usually encounter many life events to practice and experience, from sorrows to happiness, ranging from bitterness to sweetness. Tasting bitter melons or balsam pears is just like the tasting life. Children usually don’t appreciate the special taste of bitter melons, yet, seniors do.

 

The design of this book emphasizes on the choice of paper, for its texture. Words would not be seen on the cover of the book, but only on the wrapper of the book. What left on the cover of the book is the embossed of a bitter melon. It has a narrower shape with pointed ends, and a surface covered with jagged, triangular "teeth" and ridges. This simple yet concise design conveys readers a feeling of separating the wheat from the chaff without vulgarity. Meanwhile, it associates implicitly of how one treat the ways of the world indifferently when time flies and one gets old enough to appreciate bitter melons.

 

 

兩代情 - 敘述了一群長者前半生的故事。

人們經過多番歷練後，頜會了苦後回甘，因此苦瓜又稱為「半生瓜」，一種過了大半生才會欣賞的瓜。設計著重紙張材質選擇，封面所有文字只在書腰上，當除下書腰就只餘下一顆白玉苦瓜，簡潔的設計以表達人經歷練後那種處世淡然之境，感覺去蕪存菁、出塵脫俗。
