The scheme includes a theatre, art gallery, community education spaces and cafe. The building's design was targeted at the brief for highly flexible spaces that could be adapted to meet the changing needs of the community throughout the year. Key to the response was provision of a new external public spaces, for use for events, perfomances and exhibitions inviting the local community to use them in unexpected ways.
