The brief was to design a retail space  to display a collection of Samurai swords from Japan.
For my concept I thought about how a Samurai sword is used. I associated its use with a dramatic and clean slicing action. I have reflected this in the display cases and took this concept further by literally slicing into the materials which are used to construct them. The site Malt House Yard The contemporary, plaster rendered shop front contrasts sharply against the exposed brickwork of the facades either side, successfully blending the new with the old.
