Project for the renewal of the pedestrian tunnel of Lugano-Besso, submitted in the national contest proposed by Arte Urbana Lugano, 2012. Now became the "Tin Can Phone Project".
"The Funnel" is useful to pick something that would otherwise be wasted and to channel it. In this case, the transformation of the Tunnel in a Funnel serves mainly to collect and highlight what most characterizes it: the passage of people, both obvious and invisible. Every person is itself a "funnel" and collects its own flow of information, experiences and feelings. All this is mixed and processed and to the result of this procedure is given a way to flow into the Funnel, then that compound, process and becomes part of the collective. This creates a strong relationship between the human element, the location, the personal experience, the collective experience and communication thanks to the 5 main components: the flow of population (from Besso and Lugano (CH) for work, leisure or travel), the flow of travelers (arriving and departing from the railway station above), the flow of communication (which is created and lives in time, self-feeding), the creative process (which takes shape as free expression or in response to a stimulus), the randomness (of meetings, rhythms, situations, communication).
