The Challenge:
Create a t-shirt design based off of my instructor (with his permission, of course!), parodying a phrase he says often.
The Execution:
From the start I knew this had to be in a loose, retro-illustrative style, similar to the style of Shag. I really wanted it to be a "hip" kind of shirt, something you'd wear around people who didn't understand the inside joke. I also knew, since the teacher's saying is almost a mantra, he had to be cross-legged in a meditative pose.
The Challenges:
If you've ever had to draw someone sitting cross legged you know it's challenging. But try illustrating someone in a minimal way sitting cross legged - that's where it got tough. But, after much adjustment, especially to the legs and focusing mainly on proportions, I arrived at this solution.
The Solution:
A delightfully minimal tee with a maximized sense of trendiness. Success.
