TALES FROM BIELSKO-BIAłA WITHIN A LIGHT BOX
History presents itself in many forms – from books, to manuscripts, from old newspapers to film documentaries, from spoken word to memories of old, but what if wecould recreate history complete with the essence that will take us back to that time? What if we could include those small fragments of history and put it inside a box for us to see, and even hear?
The project: “Tales from Bielsko-Biała within a Light box“ is about recreating the formation and foundation of the Bielsko-Biała city in Poland by means of putting together in a light box, a surreal image complete with the essences that was vital to the formation of the present city, wherein audiences would be able to dwell deeply by visualizing and hearing the events that took place in the history of the city.
This project was conducted through the artist-in-residence program of Galeria Bielska in Bielsko-Biala, Poland.
The images shown below show the surreal images which were created from the photographs taken within the city of Bielsko-Biala.
The following images below show the work-in-progress to the final state of the light boxes.
The final presentation or finessage at 11 Listopada Street, Bielsko-Biala, Poland together with the "big" people from the art industry.
