The award-winning S'monsters S'mores Kit

I participated in the 2012 IoPP 48hr Re-Pack Competition with a great team of fellow Portfolio Center students. For this challenge, our team only had 48 hours to hear the objective then fully create and execute our packaging design. We created the award-winning S'monsters, a s'mores kit that would be fun and environmentally friendly to take along camping trips. We decided to apply the Nabisco brand because we believe this product would be a great fit for them.

The nostalgia of sitting around the campfire telling scary stories with friends or family was key to the design process. We considered the hassle of packing a box of gram crackers, a bag of jumbo marshmallows, and chocolate bars on a trip. The packaging is designed to contain all three ingredients in a single box for a serving size of four. Three colorful characters were designed to represent three different marshmallow flavors including classic vanilla, strawberry, and mint.

The back of the box tears away not only to reach your yummy ingredients, but when you turn over the flap, you'll find a Mad Libs to help you and friends tell your scary campfire story. To enhance the fun, the empty box becomes a puppet to help you make your S'monster come ALIVE!
