Element79 is an online movement made by designers, for designers. This online platform gets it's name from a direct interpretation of the word "gold: which has an atomic number of 79 that many call an "Element of 79". The online website and store allows designers to sell and share what they deem "gold/good design", and acts as a platform for conversation. This project was designed to help recode designer obsessions with creating visual literature, products and services that encourage material and symbolic waste. 

One of the founding pieces of this movement is the Element79 notebook. The opening words of the notebook read "This notebook contains ideas worth their weight in gold". This quote encourages preparation, research, and the act of revisiting the brief, in order to create successful design outcomes worth their weight in gold. Socially responsive design is often quite hard to come by within the design industry, which means there is a need to design well-being and create possibilities that no longer find fault in people, but the actualities they live in. Element79 aims to encourage a rebirth of design in its people and products from a humanistic level. To dig deep and find true potential - a treasure chest of real ideas, acquired through deep self-evaluation and networking with other like-minded individuals who are also searching for their own truths within design.
