Raw Sugar Pedro Almodovar Film Festival
GOAL Creating a set of promotional materials for a film festival which features films shot by the Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar.
APPORACH Almodovar was heavily influenced by old Hollywood movies in which the plot revolves around a female main character, who often struggles in tough situations. Struggling females inspired me to photograph feminine objects in harsh environments, which developed into lipstick drawings in the dark corners of the city. Those lipstick drawings eventually evolved into expressive illustrations, which was the final direction I felt strong enough for the project.
