Final Master Project
The project is aimed at exploring how the use of new forms of energy is going to change the way we use public spaces, using the city of Milan as a case study. The scope will be to place new objects in the urban area and understanding better important issues but also the related opportunities.

It is vital to highlight that the project will work with one of the most important products made by REPOWER and designed by Italo Rota and Alessandro Pedretti: a charging turret that evolves into an instrument of communication and urban design element: PALINA. Its elegant design and latest technology will propose a different way to recharge vehicles and stream media (including promotional).
Punto Station is a two floor small building where people can park their electric bikes and charge them by using the electricity provided by REPOWER Palina, and enjoy a nice time on the places nearby while waiting for your e-bike to be completely charged. Since it will be placed on strategic touristic places, you can also enjoy the attractions surrounded by the station without worrying about the bike being stolen.

The first floor (ground floor) of the station it’s all about a secure electric bike and e-bike parking, with the Palina as the most attractive object. Here you can also find the metro entrance on one side of the building, as well as some shops, cafeterias and bars.

On the back of the station you will see a hidden staircase that leads to an upper floor. Since the second floor will be only for rent for exhibitions and advertising, the stairs will be pulled down on special events. The wall and ceiling of the second floor is covered by LED used mainly for advertisement.

It consists of 4 key elements, which are:
     - PALINA: it’s the name of the turret designed by ItaloRota and Alessandro Pedretti for REPOWER        that provides energy for charging electric vehicles.
     - Electric bike parking rack: a design of an electric bike rack will be part of the structure located            right on one side of the metro entrance, where people can park their e-bikes in an easy and simple        way and providing security at the same time.
     - Meeting point:  the place will not only have the function of a parking space, but also will provide a        place to spend time with your family and friends or even by yourself.
     - Publicity: the double floor station will offer a big screen for publicity and were people can find              information about many different companies that will rent the place for promotion and exhibition.
How it works:
1.   If you are using an electric bike or a normal bike, you need first to locate the Punto Station closer to you.
2.   After locating the station, you will find several metal racks to park the e-bike or bike.

3.    When already parking the e-bike on a metal rack, secure it with chains to the tubes that are located right next to the e-bike on the column.
4.    Once secured the e-bike, connect the battery plug into the socket.
5   Go to the PALINA and pay for your bike to get charged.
6.    Take some free time to have a nice cup of coffee or an apperitivo on the nearby places from Punto Station.
According on the research done and design process, it can be concluded that Punto Station is aimed at being a successful e-bike parking lot, using renewable energy provided by REPOWER.
By enhancing the infrastructure and order in the city, people can feel they are being part of a change: a change of the way people travel from one point to another, being thus a help to reduce traffic and pollution. People like to feel involved in those changes to improve their town, making them more aware of their actions and the impact they have in the reorganization of the same. When they are involved they feel important and they will give a special value to things, and that value is going to be given to the station.
THANK YOU.
