Public Bikes Poster

Our Public Bikes Poster has been selected to appear in Communication Arts, Design Annual 54. It’s an honor to be chosen as one of only 189 winning projects from 4,636 global entries.
Rob Forbes, founder of Public Bikes, called on Morla Design as a key partner in identifying ways to engage the design community with his beautifully designed bicycles. Together they developed the concept of a poster series announcing the launch of Public Works, a public forum which draws attention to critical issues of public space and the livability of our cities. Morla Design recognized that the vast majority of Public Bikes are sold to women, and the poster imagines a bike basket filled with flowers. The icon at the bottom of the poster depicts a bicycle with an asterisk “flower” in its basket silhouetted out of a bicycle gear, a nod to bike riding women graphic designers. The posters are printed large scale, 40”x60” and are available to purchase individually or as a set at publicbikes.com.

This piece is in the permanent collection of San Francisco Museum of Modern Art | SFMoMA.
