Here is the third and last illustration of my triptych « Monsters and tribulations in Grenoble »
The scene takes place in Michalon park, behind Grenoble's Museum of Fine Arts. In this green area you can contemplate nature and sculptures made by artists from very different backgrounds.
The greenery is peaceful but a hugeshark appears which is trapped in a sculpture (Trois lignes indeterminées[Three indeterminate lignes] by Bernard Venet).
The image is humoristic and violent.The violence comes from the contrasts and the mix of elements and symbols. The nature is immobile, serene where as the big animal is curling, trapped, firghtened and frightening. Cold metal circles hot flesh. An imaginary world islost into a real one. Only the sculpture reunites them.
I think that this last picture can stirup imagination and open to various interpretations. It's up to you ! :)
