Exploring the ruins of the Yonkers Power Plant in Yonkers, New York
The Yonkers Power Plant, a remnant of the New York Central & Hudson River Rail Road has stood on the banks of the Hudson River north of New York City since 1906, and has been derelict since the mid-1980s. It was sold in the spring of 2012. Its fate remains uncertain. The space as it stands is stunning, but it seems likely that it will eventually be torn down to make way for the usual waterfront condos.
