Created for the Greenbelt Movement, the Pocket Planting Guide provides instructions for selecting and planting native trees in the United States for a young, modern audience. The larger publication explains the multiple climate zones throughout the country and contains an encyclopedia of native North American trees. The smaller set of instructions was designed to literally be taken out into the dirt, with an illustrated step-by-step planting guide. Also included is a packet of seeds, to allow the user to "start from scratch" if they desire. The goal of the system is to educate the user while keeping planting fun and easy.
