Last year the Festival of Horror films - MOTELx held in S. Jorge has partnered with Odd School where I'm a teacher, and the school had the idea to have 2 students to do a Live Act at the Festival, showing a project from concept to final illustration. Odd School made me the invitation to participate in this project and supervise them during the Festival, and later make a presentation, together with the two students, in the school to the other students.
Now, initially this would be a fast and simple image but there was much enthusiasm from the students and the project grew to a size that I didn't expected, and as we only had 2-3 hours per day of live act, I ended up having to finish it at home more later. I have to admit that this was an experience that I liked a lot (more than expected), first because I usually work alone and it was good to do a project that goes until the end of the concept with other people responsible for various parts, and that both David Fonseca as Marta Macedo (the two students chosen) did a phenomenal job showing an unusual enthusiasm and dedication.
The theme of the work was as obvious connection with the festival and it was done in Photoshop (concept, textures, post-production), Zbrush (sculpture), 3DS Max and MentalRay (modeling, scene setup, render)
