Summary: I was asked to do the 3D map for one of my favorite Music Festivals, Nos Alive. One of the challenges with this project was how to be able to communicate all the important info to the public visually, without getting the image too cluttered and at the same time being easy to read. So I end up doing a more toy/miniature look with disproportional scales between objects that also allowed me to show one of the main selling points of the festival too: being in the city and next to the river. Other challenge was not knowing for sure how big the image would have to be in the end, since it could be used on social networks, magazines, outdoors, etc. So I end up doing the textures bigger and some materials procedural. I also took the opportunity to use and play a bit with the new Fluids Simulation in 3DS Max to get the starting point for the waves.
