During the autumn of 2011 we did a road trip exploring the Norwegian Fjord regions. Like most countries, Norway's main tourist seasons are in summer and winter but unlike most countries, the tourist season is virtually non-existent in autumn. We were surprised to find many of the roads and sites closed. The positive spin-off was that we had the area to ourselves - an ideal way to experience the grandeur of the landscape.
