Nerds Specialty Packaging
After noticing this classic candy become increasingly harder to find, I created a novelty packaging system that allows Nerds to both playfully stand out from its candy counterparts and reignite interest in this childhood classic. Modeled after the idea of an Easter egg, each jumbo Nerd is a hollow Nerd-shaped vessel filled full of the tiny sugary treats. A stopper on the bottom allows for easy dispensing, and ensures that the containers are both collectable and reusable.
Each actual prototype was hand-carved to scale out of high-density sign foam, then primed, sanded and spray painted countless times to glossy, candy-coated perfection.
