Animated sequence of my awakening  Mechanic Butterfly

The idea of making a mechanical creature was inspired by the sculpture works of Andrew Chase, "Mechanical Animals". I opted to turn an organic light creature icon such as the butterfly into a machine. Solving a an attractive visual solution for the butterfly's wings gave me the opportunity to add an elaborate  clockwork structure that, although not to easily appreciated on the videos, moves is a coherent speed among its wheels. The rendering process has turned out so complicated for my laptop, that I haven't yet added a background layer, reason the alpha channel makes it appear in black.

This is a highly detailed render of the butterfly's wireframe, edited in Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. By zooming on the image you can easily appreciate the complexity of the polygon structure.
Cloud fluids as a background

Clouds made with fluids in Maya Autodesk, with the idea of using them as a misty background as shown in the edited image below.

The wheels move at a different speed attached to the four translucid wings of the Butterfly.
