Mareas Migratorias
También conocido como "La Bestia", el tren de carga de Arriaga en el estado de Chiapas, México, sirve como transporte para los cientos de hombre mujeres y niños inmigrantes que se dirigen hacia EEUU. Después de esperar el tren por algunos días finalmente éste llega y con él la urgencia de subir a y apartar el lugar sobre los "durmientes" de los vagones, a veces a inesperadas horas del día o hasta la noche. La esperanza y el entusiasmo por alcanzar los sueños se pueden vislumbrar muchas veces entre los rostros de preocupación y cansancio por todos los peligros que hay que librar en el camino; secuestros, asaltos, encuentros con grupos de crimen organizado en México, accidentes muchas veces mortales por el tren, "la migra" o violaciones a hombres y mujeres y extorsiones son algunos solamente.
Salvadoreños, Hondureños, Guatemaltecos, Nicaragüenses, entre otras nacionalidades, desfilan cada que el tren parte hacia Ixtepec, Oaxaca. En ésta travesía que durará muchos días también la solidaridad se deja ver entre los centroamericanos. Muchas veces en grupos otras solitarios, de cualquier manera se apoyan mutuamente, hacen planes y se defienden entre ellos de los peligros pasados o por venir. Sin dejar a un lado que también cuentan con el apoyo del grupo de protección al migrante "Beta" quienes les dan comida, agua y primeros auxilios cuando lo necesitan. También existen Albergues y casas de apoyo al migrante como la de Doña Olga en Tapachula, dónde les ofrecen camas, comida, duchas, servicios medicos y ropa usada en buenas condiciones. Algunas veces se quedan por tiempos prolongados para recuperarse de accidentes que han sufrido con el tren (amputaciones, caidas) o cualquier otro percance que requiera reposo y así poder seguir su camino de regreso o volver a intentarlo cuando se recuperen.
Esta es la segunda parte de una serie de imágenes que fueron capturadas en Arriaga, en el estado de Chiapas durante las intervenciones artísticas de Mareas Migratorias, a cargo de Oscar Rodriguez y Gloria Godínez. Los dejo pues con una pequeña parte de este viaje que para muchos de los migrantes, está apenas por comenzar.

Also known as "The Beast", the cargo train of Arriaga in the State of Chiapas, México is used as transportation by hundreds of immigrant man, woman and children who are heading to the USA, after waiting the train for some days, this finally arrives and with it the urge to get up and make some place on the "sleepers" of the train's cars, sometimes at sudden hours of the day or even night. The hope and enthusiasm for the dreams is visible between the faces of worry and fatigue because of all the dangers in the way; kidnappings, robbery, encounter with crime organizations in Mexico, accidents with the train most of the times deadly, migration police, raping to man and woman and extortion just to mention some.

In this journey that will last days also the solidarity plays a part among the centroamericans. Sometimes in groups or alone, either way the immigrants usually support each other , they make plans and defend themselves of the dangers already past or in the near future. They also count on the support of a group of protection to the migrant called "BETA" who give them food, water and medical assistance if needed. Along the migrants route either are shelters or houses of support like the one located in Tapachula Chiapas, leaded by Doña Olga, where they can find beds, showers, medical services and used clothes. Sometimes they stay for long lapses of time, recovering from injuries suffered from falls of the train, beatings or any other harm which requires rest and then go back to their home or keep on heading to the north.
