I was commissioned by Zizzi Ristorante to design and produce two locally themed murals for their Dorchester restaurant. The brand new site is situated on Brewery Square - a huge recently opened development featuring a large number of restaurants, shops and cinema.
My design for the right-hand side of the restaurant was inspired by the Jurassic Coast - a designated World Heritage Site. The section of coast spans a distance of 95 miles between Orcombe Point, East Devon and Old Harry Rocks in East Dorset. It is not only an area of stunning natural beauty, but features fossil rich geology spanning the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, representing 185 million years of the Earth’s history.
The work was completed in acrylic using a mixture of rollers, paint pens and a lot of masking tape!
