Ground Zero is an entirely student run venue located at Nugent Hall at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. We have biweekly Open Mics open to members of both the RPI and local community. We also have concerts, booking both local, national, and international bands representing a wide range of genres: folk, indie rock, jazz, electronica, hip hop, to name a few. Check out our website for a look at our upcoming events!

From 2010-2011 I served as Co-Public Relations director, a position that involved publicizing our events via e-mails, facebook events, and posters. Showcased below are a few of the posters I created for shows this year.
Bronzed Chorus is an epic, post rock band and one of my favorite acts that I've been introduced to via GZ. To me, a lot of their songs seem to paint this multifaceted, sylvan sort of soundscape, so for the poster I was inspired to create this eerie, flame like forest.

For the Spring Art Show poster, I wanted to use some kind of image that was easy to identify as "Art" or "Creativity" in a very general sense. I'm a huge fan of the show Mad Men and Lucky Strike cigarettes are present throughout the show's season. I love the design for their cigarette boxes, with the target like graphic in which "Lucky Strike" is placed. It is eye-catching but also clean and simple. I decided to create a box of grayscale pencils, designed after the Lucky Strike box.
