This project was a logo propsal for a bakery, named Good Karma Cakes. They wanted the design to reflect the zen/buddhist vibe of their name in a sweet and vibrant way as well as focus on baked goods since they are a bakery.
I started with some sketches of a happy buddha as the frosting on the cupcake. First design they thought was cute but a bit too complex for what they had in mind. So did a simpler version with fewer colors and bolder lines, though the ears still seem a bit out of place but without them it looses the buddha connection.
