Remarkable Love Stories

...

Parris Whittingham, founder of From Parris With Love, lives and breathes the captured moment. He sees the world as a relationship photographer and each day, helps write and capture love stories for couples—remarkable ones mind you.

"I believe remarkable love stories change the world."

notsirk was asked to make a love mark that captured the following feelings: romantic, realist, modern and Grand Central Station. A mix of tradition and non-tradition.
The result was an iconic and modern logo that serves to capture all those From Parris With Love moments. It's a love mark that exudes simplicity and warmth. A warm fuzzy for romantics and realists.

Deconstructed, there are 3 key layers: heart (love), book (stories) and pages (moments). The 3 layers work together to emulate the action of flicking through a book/album. The choice in black & white is a reference to Parris' timeless aesthetic in his photography. The entire mark draws attention and anticipation with clarity and trust.
The typography of the logotype exudes tradition. Stempel Schneidler is a typeface with grace, beauty, and classical proportions. Born of the typefaces of Venetian printers from the Renaissance period. The use of a traditional typeface offers the feeling of nostalgia—referencing printed books and the use of italics and its precursor, letter writing.

The introduction of Franklin Gothic as well to the logotype is a bold and non-traditional step forward. An offering of modernity and possibilities.

In combination with the logo, the two elements (logo + logotype) present a personal brand that evokes elegance, professionalism and quality.

With the logo as an anchor, the From Parris With Love website took shape. Taking on a clean, elegant aesthetic to target brides and their mothers, but still appeal to men as well.

One of the challenges Parris posed to me was making sure the users walked away from the website feeling like they got to know him. As a result, the website is a wonderful blend of clients' candid testimonials (Love Letters) and Parris' story, accompanied with of course, his amazing work.

As a final collaboration, Parris and notsirk worked on an ebook to help couples navigate the stressful times of wedding planning. With a tight 2-day deadline, the logo became the go-to image to craft a simple but powerful concept: it's your wedding, be fearless —color out the lines—your way, let's make it happen.
