Final Major Project

As part of my final major project, where I designed and made my own acryllic jewellery, I had to design a stand to display all the pieces on. The stand had to fit within the old fashioned feel of the jewellery, yet have that modern twist that bought the collection into the 21st century.
"My recent work explores British traditions and their place in the modern day through jewellery design. Can what once was elite become the norm? Like Warhol, I want to make what once was limited to a set few, available to all. Make the exclusive not so exclusive. The British culture and history truly fascinates me, yet it is only enjoyed by a restricted few. As much as this may be seen to make a political message about class and status, it is also a way to keep British traditions going. This is probably the deepest and most meaningful my work has ever been; yet this is juxtaposed with bright, playful acrylic and cartoon like illustrations that make up my jewellery. As much as I love traditions and old-fashioned ways, it is far from the style I want my work to be. Working with acrylics allows for a far bolder, statement piece that no one can ignore. "
I also created a set of images that can be used when advertising the projects. I wanted to capture the English country/wildlife feel but in a different way to the jewellery itself.
In addition the the advetising I made, I wanted to create tissue paper that had the same feel to it. I believe that a gift is more than just the item itself so having tissue that makes you excited even before you have opened the present is something I really focused on.
