End of year poster sent out to clients of Paper Stone Scissors design studio. I wanted to visualize a melting away of one year into the next as seems to happen when you are busy. There's also a subtle nod to global warming and Australia heading into summer.
To get a realistic look I actually created the three dimensional numbers in ice. The design was routed from laminated sheets MDF which was then used to make a silicon mould to fill with water and freeze. Silicon beading was used to keep the melted water in the 09 shape. Almost no retouching was required to get the final result.
