The Durham Book Rally was an event to raise money and book for the Durham Public Schools.  The admission to the event was two gently used books so that the schools could provide them to students over the summer.  Students who read over the summer retain their education and skills more readily than students who do not, so it's key to keeping the quality of learning high in Durham.

For the design, the folks at UDR were totally open-ended about what to include on the poster, so long as it contained the pertinent info.  For some unexplainable reason, the first thing that popped into my head was a pirate ship suspended by a flying book... I pitched the idea, they loved it, and the final printed is below.
