Once upon a time in1977, a girl named Koralie love was born in Montpellier. She enjoyed playingaround with different types of material and assembles them as a collage. Herimaginative visual ideas are heavily inspired by various cultures, styles,backgrounds, and pattern designs. Such as african braids, chandeliers, englishcurls, russian dolls, indian folklore, 26th-century japan headgear, and others.Koralie’s exquisite artworks have inspired me to create this designer inspireddoll. Her style of layering different materials is identical to the intricatefolding of a japanese doll. Thus, i’ve created my version of a folding japanesedoll using just a single piece of paper, whereas a traditional japanese doll ismade from 3 pieces of paper. The background design is influenced by japanesebold patterns and delicate english flowers. For the colour palette, i’ve optedfor bright colours to bring out the pattern’s detail. This japanese doll isdedicated to Koralie and so her life story is incorporated in it as part of itslayout design.
