Corporate Identity- ETV Network

  • This was a hypothetical project for which I chose to re-design the identity of ETV Network. ETV Network was started by a Telugu channel Eenadu during the late 1990's and now, runs 12 regional channels. Their identity hasn't changed since then. The challenge was to leave the Telugu connection intact but bring in changes to depict the progress of the network.
  • I studied the Telugu script and started off with initial sketches. I tried to get in the influence of the Telugu script into the identity in order to form a connection to the origin of the network.
  • I also tried exploring with the number 12 since it runs 12 channel . I soon realised that this solution would be only be justified for a very short period since the network may choose to diversify into more channels at some point of time.

  • The existing logo and the sketch that I went ahead with can be seen in the right top corner. Then I started exploring in terms of form and colour. 
    The  concept behind this visual was that the 'TV' becomes a part of the letter 'E'. Therefore, the emphasis is on the E as intended. The stroke of the 'E' is points upwards depicting growth.
    The circle is supposed to depict a 'tilak' which is an integral aspect of the Indian culture.
  • I retained the same colours as the existing logo in this identity so that people can relate it to the previous one.
    All the 12 regional channels owned by the network use the identity as the network. I suggested different colours for different channels for easy differentiation and recognition .
