Coat Rack Bench

Coat Rack Bench:

Far and away my most popular design, probably as most of my clients are based in London and are constantly looking for ways to store items creatively and save space. I designed this piece exactly for that purpose.

Combining English Oak and steel, the coat rack bench will be a practical addition to any hallway.

This item can be made to whatever size you require although I have found a height of 180cm ideal for hanging of long overcoats comfortably. The 9cm long high tensile steel bolts allow other items such as wide strapped bags to be hung with ease.

There is a 22cm deep shelf above the hooks as well as a further 30cm deep shelf below the actual bench. The Oak is finished with ‘Tung Oil’. The metal is hand-sanded. I advise the unit is attached to a solid wall especially if heavy items will be placed on the top shelf.

The one illustrated here measures 120cm wide with five hanging pegs. A hard wax oil protects the oak and a clear lacquer seals the hand sanded metal frame.
