Axel's World of Crap originally started life as an online store selling basic merchandise in mid 2009. It has since grown into a full-blown creative community.
After the success of the original online store, AWOC (As it is now more widely known.) implemented a custom order function, allowing customers to request specific artwork to be created and place on the merchandise in the store.

This is when the forum was created, so that customers could connect and see the progress of their orders, as well as chat with fellow fans.
As more and more members joined, it was clear that everyone was of a creative mindset and it was then the decision to make a main site was made.

The main site was a Myspace-style community, complete with customisable profiles, user groups, a gallery and a chatroom. It also featured a reviews feed, where AWOC staff wrote reviews about various products and services.
The main site, due to a discussion brought up by members of it being too cluttered, has recently undergone an overhaul and has a sleek, professional look. The gallery is easier to use and it has a library for writers to post their works. It also has a Meebo footer bar, allowing visitors to log into their favourite IM services all in one location. It also has a new video chat allowing members to chat live using their webcams and microphones.

Since the launch of V2, AWOC Live was launched, allowing customers a new insight into the creation of their products. AWOC live is a live broadcast of the art creation process.
AWOC's store is, obviously, the most popular section. It is full of quirky designs and new one's are always being added.
