Beekeeping periodicals are a rare species; only three titles in the u.s. “Apiary-The Journal of Practical Beekeeping” is a re-design of one of those. I found out quite quickly that the small niche market of their readers can’t fund the budget required to produce what I envisioned. To solve this dilemma, I expanded the magazine to other areas of interest to broaden the reader base. Expanding the subject matter to gardeners, homesteaders, beekeeping-curious, and through the use of imaginative cover layouts and a highly unique banner turned this magazine into so much more.
