Açoriano Oriental Online

Açoriano Oriental Online/
Site restyle for portuguese online newspaper based in Ponta Delgada, Azores.
www.acorianooriental.pt is the oldest Portuguese newspaper still in print.
The editorial team wanted the information to be fed into flexible blocks, allowing the greater
visual control depending on the type of news: text, video, images, etc.
The solution is a more readable site which can attract new visitors to a pleasent experience.
Now the corporate brand maintains an equal awareness both print and online.
Here's the previous version and the new proposal.
First Approach /
Sketching
After the briefing and some interviews, i developed some rough sketches.
First aproach was not the best solution. More time was spent sizing columns rather than focusing on simple design: to make user-friendly, readable and up-to-date solution.
More sketching after first approach /
Special thanks to Javier Cañada & Vostok team
Final proposal /
From an information architect or UI designer point of view, it may seem it is not as aesthetic or functional as it could be. Experience is the best teacher.
Styleguide /
The editorial / coding team was provided with a styleguide. It is the best way not only to make a smooth and efficient collaboration, but to prove you offer a distinguised service.
- Thanks for watching -
