From Wikipedia: "The Packard Automotive Plant is a former automobile-manufacturing factory in Detroit, Michigan where luxury Packard cars were made by the Packard Motor Car Company and later by the Studebaker-Packard Corporation."
I am not a big believer in the style of photography known as "ruin porn." However, I was in Detroit on an aerial shoot in 2011 and I've always wanted to see the sprawling Packard plant. I spent a good part of my youth in Michigan and I remember when Detroit was a vibrant and thriving city.
I thought the best way to show the current state of the plant to the world was from above - and - far safer than trying to shoot it from the ground.
The plant was recently purchased by a South American investor. Lets hope for the best.
Hope you enjoy these images.
