Williams F1 Autograph Cards 2019

Autograph cards are designed before the beginning of every Formula One racing season, ready for drivers to sign for fans at each race. Each driver has their own card design, which includes a dynamic image on the front, with space for their signature, and all of their details and history on the reverse. These were all designed for the two ROKiT Williams Racing Drivers, George Russell and Robert Kubica, Reserve Driver, Nicholas Latifi, and Development Driver, Jamie Chadwick.
The design is made up from three different images; one moody portrait shot of the driver, an action shot getting in the car, merged with a paint splat effect to resemble the new look of the Williams brand identity. The hint of red in the eye nods to the title sponsor, ROKiT, and gives that technical 'cyborg' feel.

The portrait is initially cut out from the background and further manipulated and masked to merge with the paint splat, making an interesting shape and effect. A gradient map (red, black, blue and white) is then applied, overlaid with an action shot image using 'screen' blending mode. To complete the graphic, any undesired red areas are filled with the main blue colour to clean everything up.

The graphics are used throughout the rest of the Williams collateral for the whole season including trackside in the garage and motorhome, in Commercial decks and on social media platforms, and available for sponsors to use on their promotional material.
