Art In Times Of Coronavirus - Quién Tiene La Corona -

This artwork is a 21cm x 29,7cm drawing on paper, entirely made with coloured Bic pens.

It was born and inspired during the 2020 Covid-19 confinement, with the intention of constituting a practical tool for well-being as it is usable as a meditation tool to enhance brain-heart coherence.

The title means “Who Has The Crown (Corona, in Spanish as well as in Italian)”, with an obvious reference to the pandemic lockdown.

On a narrative level it represent a bird inside a cage, whose bars are crossed by its energetic field and whose key is contained in the heart of the bird itself. The bird represented is a hoopoo, because it appeared to me, up to the present day, five times in the latest months, two right before the pandemic, unexpectedly in Madrid city, and the other three in France during the confinement, always on the ground in front of my feet. Investigating on it, I found it’s been a sacred bird for many cultures: according to Arabic and Jewish people it was mainly a sort of love messenger, whereas in Ancient Greek culture, it was considered the king of all birds and a sign of spiritual awakening. The crown of the title is present right above the bird crest and is symbolically pointing at the right and responsibility of each individual to decide which beliefs and actions to take, in the name of the dignity and freedom of human consciousness.

On a structure level, the cage, as seen in perspective, constitutes also an elongated hexagon, and, at the same time, is a 4th dimensional cube, whose 4th dimension is inscribed inside the cage in green color.

About its application, here are some basic INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Do meditation, yoga, physical exercise or any other practice that can allow you to remain in a relaxed state.
2) Take the picture in your hands or observe it on a wall or screen about 20/30cm far from your eyes, if in A4 dimension. If you have purchased a big print of the artwork on Saatchi, the distance can obviously be higher.
3) Pick one of the circles located along the central vertical line (the eye of the bird is possibly a good start).
4) Look at the white dot inside it fixedly, without blinking (if the eye tends to reactively move from its focus, there’s no need to get frustrated, just bring it back to the point). Remember to relax your facial muscles (eyelids, forehead, jaws and scalp muscles), your neck and your shoulders.
5) At the same time, focus your bodily perception on your spinal cord or more generically on the back side of your body (if it seems difficult to you sensing it, you can help yourself by contracting a few times the perineum muscles in order to push up the cerebrospinal fluid towards the pineal gland inside your brain).
6) As you keep observing, in a few seconds (depending on the relaxation, concentration and awareness of the user) various zone of the drawing will firstly become blurry in your peripheral view and then all the outlines will appear more contrasted. Do not resist this phase in order to step to the following one.
7) The various shapes and fields will alternatively appear and disappear, vibrate… You could possibly see shapes and lines you didn’t see before. Each one can have a different optical sensation.
8) Keep observing relaxedly until you wish and observe what effect it has on your body. Try to distribute equally your attention on the drawing and on your spine/organs. You can do it if you stop analysing or overcontrolling your experience.
9) When you have enough of this point, pass to the other ones, maintaining your presence first within the limits of your body and/or focusing later on your energetic field.
10) Close your eyes and stay quiet as long as you wish before getting back to whatever you want to do with your life.

I invite you to repeat this once in the morning and once in the evening for at least three days. If you perceive some effect, even mild, keep on for 21 or 30 days and then please give your feedback in a commentary down here.

Each central circle is meant to be related to a different chakra, corresponding to certain organs and functions:
- The 1st circle, the Moon, can activate the Crown Chakra (and partially the Throat Chakra) - Skull, skin, upper brain, pineal gland: SPIRITUAL: wisdom, transcendence, universality.
   You may feel a sensation of openness in the fontanel zone, at the top of the head, and maybe sense a sort of column of energy passing through the pineal gland in the center of the brain upwards, and maybe the energy field right over the upper surface of the body.
- The 2nd circle, the Eye of the hoopoo, can activate the Third Eye Chakra - Eyes, sinuses, lower brain, pituitary gland: PERCEPTION: extrasensory perception, intuition, inspiration.
   You may begin to feel a compression / expansion in the center of the forehead a bit above the eyebrows, and after that some light sensation in the pituitary gland zone and at the back of your head, the three points connected by a sort of transversal axe.
- The 3rd circle, the Key-Heart, can activate the Heart Chakra - Heart, lungs, arms, thymus, immune system: LOVE: compassion, trust, forgiveness, integration.
   You may feel a relaxation in your chest area, an increase of the breathing capacity and a general pleasant sensation, maybe with heat involved.
- The 4th circle, the Rooted Earth, can activate the Root Chakra (and in smaller amount also the Third Eye) - Hips, legs, intestines, spine: SURVIVAL: safety, grounding, right to live.
   You may feel a compression / expansion / relaxation in the perineum, a sense of gravity and somehow a connection to Earth.

Note that the colours and shapes of each chakra may not correspond to the traditional graphical representation, as I only followed my own intuition and represented streams of information organising them in a few colours which rather indicate different planes of information than the correspondence between light frequencies and chakras. It is the result of a personal, intuitive investigation which doesn’t intend to be neither compliant nor contrary to tradition.

The general effect should be the enhancement of the brain-heart coherence, which will mean sending a coherent message to all the cells and tissues of your entire body. The higher the coherence, the higher the energy, not only in a strictly biological sense.
And this, apart from the mere health of your body, has also a transcendent value, because on the amount of energy you can liberate from the constrictions of your mind or the identification with the physiological processes and limits of your body will depend the significance and quality of your life experience, no matter what the outer conditions will be. And, right as a result of that, your life conditions can also favourably change.

If you never meditated before I still invite you to try this out, but just the difficulty in overcoming the reactive instinct of the eye of blinking autonomously could alone avoid the rest of the phenomenon to occur. If you get to overcome it (remember that excessive effort is a big obstacle to archive the necessary relaxation), I don't see why you shouldn't obtain a similar experience. Human nature is one.
Maybe listening to a 417Hz, 741Hz, 852Hz or 963Hz meditation music while observing the picture can help, if it feels pleasant to you.
