Toy Diorama Displays

For Action Figures, HotWheels, 1/24th & 1/18th Scale Model Cars, M&Ms Dispensers.
Currently I'm designing and building these as one of a kind displays. I'm planning more generic designs for sale in the near future. Several buildings are planned to be built solid (no interiors), with interiors and removable walls, with interiors and stackable floors, and wall mountable with hinged fronts. I would like to create several buildings and make a city block for toy show display.
The X-Files. My first action figure display made with a marble textured resin panel, stenciled and airbrushed. The text on the clock are computer graphics.
Snake Pliskin – Escape From New York. First action figure base prototype using computer graphics gatorfoam, foamcore, cardstock, glues, and paints. Also first experiment with making props for use with the figure displays.
Snake Pliskin from another angle. The door frame is actually raised to simulate a recessed door. I painted the edge of the base with bumper black spray paint which created an eroded effect. It looks good but makes the bottom edge of the base too fragile.
1940s Batmobile 1/18th scale Gotham City Police garage. I think the metal door is too new for this car. I'm making another one with a old style wood panel door.
Martinsville Speedway display base for 1/24th scale cars.
HULK GAMMA LAB display. Designed in Photoshop and built from recycled gator foam, card stock and color laser prints.
Same Incredible HULK base shown without HULK, to show more detail. All computer graphics, laser prints, gatorfoam, cardstock control panel.
Prototype stainless steel display base for a single 6 inch action figure.
KISS stage. For 6 inch action figure set. Working on the backdrop of fake video screens now.
HotWheels scale 1966 Batmobile base, simulated 3D billboard of original show cartoons.
HotWheels scale 1966 Batmobile garage prototype.
Night time city rooftop. This is the original design without props. Large enough to display several figures.
Original Conan the Barbarian Castle display for six inch action figures. I'm working on some new props for this one to be added in the near future.
New product idea for M&Ms dispensers. Same as the displays for six inch action figures except larger. Made from recycled gator foam, foam core, and color laser prints from my Photoshop texture files. The two movie posters are mounted on foam core panels and wrapped with graphics.
1960s style S.H.I.E.L.D. display for six inch action figures. It is a Photoshop simulation of the final display.
Photoshop simulation of what the final AVENGERS display will look like.
Revised version of the night time city rooftop. I call this one "Midnight in Gotham City" I made a new rooftop exit prop for Batman and Robin's meeting with Commisioner Gordon.
Closeup shot that I used for one of my Clifton Custom Toys newsletter. Rooftop exit in another location. I made several props for this display. See the following photos.
This shot shows all of the props at once which takes up too much room on the display.
This shot shows the air conditioner and the rooftop exit. I like the multiple props. You can use them for a different look with different characters or with another display.
This shot shows the ductwork and the air conditioner. I've been working on these for another larger display. It will be four feet wide by eight feet tall, and look like downtown New York, Gotham City, or Metropolis. The skyscrapers will be in the back with smaller buildings in the front. The props are designed to dress up those buildings. I'll need a lot of loose figures to populate that design.
Welcome to Hogwarts upgrade to the original Conan the Barbarian Castle. I designed and printed two banners for the walls. Created a set of banners for all the houses of Hogwarts. I'm working on some experimental stone columns that I may use later. This is also the "movie set" that I'm rebuilding using my new experimental "Mag-Lock" system. The door, windows, and wall accessories will stick to the back wall. The customer will be able to take them off and rearrange them into whatever configuration they want.
Photoshop simulation of a new LuthorCorp Level 33.1–SMALLVILLE figure display. It gives you a good idea of what the final build will look like.
