As majority of products in the butter shelves are packed in foil
wrapping, Valio products do not stand out from the competition.
The foil wrapping is not very practical, as it gets easily soiled
in use and is not resealable.
Furthermore, the aluminium contained in the wrapping is
controversial issue, as environmentally friendly and easily
recyclable packaging is reality and the ”now thing”.

Coated paperboard packaging is an excellent alternative to
foil wrapping as it can be produced into a box.
Box butter package is easy-to-use in various situations: cooking,
baking and spreading, as it can be folded back into it's original shape.
Packaging can be scaled into different packaging sizes –
200 g & 500 g, is stackable and logistically viable option.
